Privacy Policy

The short version

Play & Tools does not collect, store or transmit anything you type, paste or upload. Every tool on this site runs entirely inside your browser. There is no account system, no database of user content, and no server that receives your input.

What happens to your data

When you use a tool here, your browser downloads a small JavaScript file and runs it locally. The text you enter, the files you drop in and the results you get never leave your device. Closing the tab discards everything.

This applies to every tool without exception, including the ones handling sensitive material: JSON payloads, JSON Web Tokens, passwords, file checksums and images with location metadata are all processed locally.

Local storage

The site stores one thing in your browser's local storage: your choice of light or dark appearance. It never leaves your device and is not used to identify you. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Analytics

We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand which tools are being used. It is privacy-focused by design: it sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device, does not track you across sites, and collects only aggregate page-level measurements such as the page path, referrer, country and browser type. There is no way for us to identify an individual visitor from it.

Advertising

This site may display advertising supplied by Google AdSense in order to remain free. Where advertising is shown, the following applies:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info.
• Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent prompt before any personalised advertising cookies are set, as required by the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive.

Advertising is displayed alongside tools. It never has access to the content you enter into a tool, because that content exists only in your browser's memory and is never included in any network request.

Hosting and server logs

This site is hosted on Cloudflare. As with any website, Cloudflare's servers process standard request data — IP address, user agent, requested URL and timestamp — in order to deliver the page and protect against abuse. This is handled by Cloudflare under its own privacy policy and is retained only for a limited period. We do not maintain separate server logs.

Cookies

Play & Tools itself sets no cookies. Cloudflare may set essential security cookies, and where advertising is enabled, advertising vendors may set their own cookies as described above.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Your rights

Because we do not collect personal data, there is no account to delete and no data export to request. If you are in a jurisdiction granting rights over personal data — such as the GDPR in the EU, the UK GDPR, or the CCPA in California — those rights would apply to the data processed by our hosting and advertising providers, and you can exercise them directly with Cloudflare and Google.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes materially, the date at the top of this page will be updated. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
